Welcome to Mrs. Zodo’s classroom! This is my third year teaching at Peterson in the bilingual program in grades Kindergarten through 4th and my second year in the Literacy Intervention program for 3rd and 4th grades. Your children will be working on various skills necessary for successful communication in all content areas. These skills include speaking, listening, reading, writing, and vocabulary.
In order to support your children at home and help them become better readers and writers, they should be reading a minimum of 15-20 minutes each night. Please keep track of their reading at home by filling in the Home Reading Log each night. Your children will begin to gain confidence as readers and develop fluency by reading a variety of different ways. Please read Tips from Mrs. Zodo for Reading At Home.
I look forward to working together with you to help your children reach their full potential and increase their chances for success in the classroom and become lifelong readers and writers. Your main contribution will be your interest and support. Feel free to email me with any questions or concerns.
To all my returning and new students: Remember! It is okay not to know but it is NOT okay not to try.
Yours in learning,
